I don't know if this is old news or what, but I just discovered that ENTSSO system in BizTalk 2006 is backwards compatible with BizTalk 2004. This means that you can have a BizTalk Server 2004 group and BizTalk Server 2006 group running side by side (during an upgrade cycle for instance) both running off the same SSO system.
